Why Choose Lihyang

Four pillars that set Lihyang apart from commodity foil suppliers — built over 45 years of manufacturing in Taiwan.

01

Proprietary Formula — Release & Adhesion

Unlike distributors and trading companies, Lihyang develops its own release layer and adhesion layer formulations in-house. This means we can tune foil chemistry for specific substrates, temperatures, and print conditions — delivering consistent transfer and adhesion that off-the-shelf foils cannot match.

02

60+ Countries — Proven Global Supply

Our foils and films are used in production by converters, brand owners, and packaging manufacturers across more than 60 countries in Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. We understand international logistics, compliance requirements, and regional market expectations.

03

Free Technical Samples

We provide complimentary samples for qualified inquiries across all product lines — hot stamping foil, cold foil, holographic foil, pearl foil, VMPET, AlOx film, and toner-based foil. Evaluate performance on your exact substrate and equipment before committing to an order.

04

Expert Engineering Support

Our technical engineers provide direct pre-sales and after-sales support: temperature and pressure parameter guidance, substrate compatibility troubleshooting, custom color formula development, and barrier film specification consultation. Reach us at tw@lihyangfoil.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical and commercial questions answered by Lihyang's engineering team.

Hot stamping foil is a multi-layer film — typically comprising a PET carrier, release layer, colour or metallic layer, and adhesion layer — that transfers a decorative finish onto a substrate using a heated metal die and controlled pressure. When the die contacts the foil, heat activates the release layer, separating the decorative layer from the carrier and bonding it to the surface below. The result is a crisp, high-gloss or textured metallic or pigment finish. It is the standard decorative process for luxury packaging, cosmetics, books, wine labels, and premium consumer goods worldwide.
Hot stamping foil transfers using a heated die (typically 80–160 °C) and pressure — no adhesive is applied by the press. It is ideal for short runs, fine detail, embossed patterns, and a wide range of substrates including plastic and leather. Cold foil uses a UV-curable adhesive printed inline by the press, after which the foil is laminated and cured under UV light. Cold foil runs at 75–150 m/min and is significantly more economical for high-volume label and flexible packaging production, though it requires a compatible press configuration.
Lihyang hot stamping foils are engineered for paper and coated board, ABS, PP, PE, and PVC plastics, genuine and synthetic leather, textile fabrics, and wood. Because different materials require different adhesion chemistry, we maintain separate formulas optimised for each substrate class. We strongly recommend requesting a free sample in your specific substrate before ordering production quantities — our engineers can confirm the correct grade for your application and equipment.
Typical starting parameters are 80–160 °C die temperature, 20–80 kg/cm² pressure, and 0.1–0.5 seconds dwell time. Paper and coated board are generally stamped at lower temperatures (80–110 °C), while plastics and leather may require 120–160 °C. Dwell time and pressure are adjusted together — harder substrates and finer detail often benefit from slightly higher pressure and longer dwell. Each Lihyang foil series ships with a technical data sheet specifying recommended parameters; our engineering team is also available for direct troubleshooting.
VMPET (vacuum metallized PET) is a polyester film coated with a nanometre-scale layer of aluminium deposited under vacuum. The aluminium layer provides an excellent barrier against oxygen (OTR ≤1.5 cc/m²/day) and water vapour (WVTR ≤1.0 g/m²/day), extending shelf life for moisture- and oxygen-sensitive products. It is widely used as a layer in flexible food packaging structures — snack bags, coffee pouches, dried fruit packaging, pet food — as well as pharmaceutical blister webs and thermal insulation materials.
AlOx film uses a thin ceramic coating of aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃) rather than metallic aluminium. This delivers barrier performance comparable to VMPET while being optically transparent (the contents of the package remain visible), fully microwavable, and compatible with metal detectors — features that standard VMPET cannot offer. It is the preferred choice for premium transparent food pouches where product visibility is important, for medical and pharmaceutical packaging requiring metal-detector compatibility, and for any microwave-safe flexible packaging application.
For standard hot stamping foil in catalog colors, we can supply small rolls for evaluation and short-run use. For custom colors, custom widths, or specialty films (VMPET, AlOx, cold foil, holographic), minimum production quantities apply and vary by specification. Standard production lead time is approximately 2–4 weeks after order confirmation and sample approval. Please contact tw@lihyangfoil.com with your specifications for an exact MOQ and lead time quotation.
Yes. Lihyang provides complimentary technical samples for qualified inquiries across all product lines. We also offer custom color matching: submit a Pantone reference number, RAL code, or physical swatch and our R&D team will formulate a matched foil color. Custom color development typically takes 2–3 weeks and a sample for approval is provided before production. To request samples or initiate a custom color project, contact tw@lihyangfoil.com or use the form at the bottom of this page.
